So I like to make a list at the beginning of every New Year. It’s a simple list that offers some suggestions on how to have a great year. I’ll be applying these to my life and thought I would pass them along to you in case you don’t have a list of your own.
1. Keep God first.
If you’re a person of faith like myself, it’s important to keep your relationship with God strong.
2. Love more…hate less.
There’s already enough hate in this world. Let’s drive it out by loving others.
3. Walk away from drama.
Some people love drama and everywhere they go, they bring drama with them. You might want to keep a distance from them. You can still love them, but at a distance.
4. Do more of what you love.
Give more time to doing the things you love. Make your “someday” become today. Quit putting it off until the perfect time.
5. Laugh until your stomach hurts.
Laughter is good for your soul. Go to a comedy show. Watch a comedy movie. Do fun things with loved ones. Stay close to whatever and whoever brings out the laughter in you.
6. Quit comparing yourself to others.
Be you and not someone else.
7. Take a risk.
Great reward never comes without great risk.
8. Pray more…worry less.
Stop stressing out over things that are outside of your control.
9. Finish what you start.
Most people are good at starting something, but the follow through is what matters. Finish!
10. Keep repeating 1-9.
Stay diligent and see what will happen.
Also, if you need a little extra motivation, then my book Next can help you out. It’s a great read to help you kick-start the New Year.
